Photos From Peru

Letters to and from Peru

Elder Hackleman,
Hope you have had a great week.  Ours has been an eventful one.  Seth worked a lot both at Bed Bath and Beyond but also at the baseball fields.  I went to the opening ceremonies and watched Austin and Addie sing the national anthem.  They did an awesome job.

Wed. we had an investigator at our house for a lesson.  It was his 2nd lesson.  The sisters tracted him out.  He is really awesome.  Seth sat in on the lesson as well.

The Hadley's blessed their baby during sacrament meeting because Mike is being deployed before fast sunday.  It was an awesome Sunday full of great things.

Your dad and I had our 24 wedding anniversary on Saturday.  He got us club tickets to the 1st College World Series game.  It was so much fun!

Nathan is enjoying football.  It was so funny, he told me the freshman stand on the side whenever the varsity football players walk past.  It is sort of like a parade, ha ha.  Seth hit him on the shoulder as he passed by.  All the kids were envious of him for having a cool brother.  I never thought I would be happy to hear that Seth hit his brother ha ha.

I can't remember if I told you that Gma is taking Grant to Hawaii in July.  He is so excited!

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade scored 25 points each during the game last night, and Allen brought 21 off the bench, but the defense wasn't there throughout the game.   The Heat lost game 5 to the Spurs so now they go back to Florida for game 6 and if they win game 7.

Love you and can't wait to hear from you.  Hopefully pictures!

Love,
Mom

Hey mom! That´s awesome that you have lessons at the house. I can stand as a personal witness now that missionary work can only be as successful as the members of the wards are. They are a huge part. We had two baptismal dates for this week but they both fell through so that was hard on us, but we are still working hard and I know that we will have success.

How awesome are those seats that dad gets from OTC! I bet you guys had a blast. And also, I don’t think you could have gotten dad a better Father´s day present. I am sure that he is stoked.

It sounds like Seth is really starting to take Nathan under his wing. I am so happy to hear that. I was worried how both of them being in high school would play out but now I know I don´t have to. I am also glad that Nathan is having fun in football. I know I´m a broken record but he really has the stuff to be something in football like Seth does.  Different skills but the potential to be just as successful.

Thanks for the Heat updates! It sounds close but I´m not worried yet. =) I love you mom! I got an awesome email from Albanie. I love hearing from them. Tell Becky to email me because I don´t have her Email. Love you!

Dear Elder Punkin Sonshine!

How was your week?? I heard rumors through Mission stalking on the internet that your Mission is splitting. Is that true? What's been happening? Your mom and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary yesterday. We went to the College World Series. I got tickets from work and we sat in the same seats that you and I sat in to watch the Omaha Night Hawks football team. We had a blast! Your mom and Becky got Tim and I tickets to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the 49er's in August for Father's Day. It's a pre-season game on a Friday night, but we are so excited!!

So what was your companion's name and where's he from? What's church like? What do you guys do on your p-Days? Play some soccer hopefully!

The family is doing great! Everyone is healthy and getting along pretty well. I can't remember if we told you that Seth was called as 1st Assistant to Bishop Ford.

Anyway, I know you are super busy, so here's your lesson for the week:
Repeat after me:

¿Cuántos altos sacerdotes toma para cambiar una bombilla? Ninguno. Es más fácil dormir con la lección si no hay luz en el cuarto.

In english:
How many High Priests does it take to change a light bulb? None. It's easier to sleep through the lesson if there is no light in the room.

¡Ámele hijo! Papá

Hey dad! Sorry I didn´t have time to write back last week! I´ve been bummed about that all week. I hope you guys had a good anniversary! Did mom think those seats were awesome like we thought. I am so jealous that you and Tim are going to that game! Are mom and Becky going too or is it just a guy date? My companion´s name is Elder Kitchens. He´s from Ogden. Church is different. Haha It´s cool and there are tons of church buildings here but they are all built way different than those from the states. They are all built from cement and have nothing but tile as the floor. They are incredibly nice compared to every other building here though. I love Peruvians.  That´s awesome that Seth is First Assistant. That´s great. Everyone loves this week´s spanish lesson and....we can definitely tell that you use google translator! haha Love you dad.

Grandpa Howard The Missionary

Grandpa Howard Beck Photo was taken when he was on his mission in Texas.  Now he is continuing his mission from the other side of the veil.  I'm sure he will be helping his grandchildren while they are on missions.  He currently has Elder Hackleman, Elder Cook, Sister Beck, and soon to be Elder Beck all serving full time missions.

Letters between Elder Hackleman and Nathan

Elder Hackleman,
Bro!!!!!!!!!
Sorry my hand writing is bad, I just got home from weights and I can barely lift my arms.

Also Seth forgot to say in his email that he met Travis Sweetser in the weight room at UNL at 5:30 in the morning lifting weights.  He saw how much he was benching in his workout and freaked out.  He didn't know we had moved to Omaha.

Back to Nathan.
When you get home from your mission I will be able to squat more than you can.

I got a bunch of Nike clothes for my birthday.  I officially look like a professional baller.

Your bro
Nathan

That´s awesome buddy! When I get home, you will be able to squat, bench, dead lift, and run better than I could! This Peruvian food is heavy stuff! Haha I have dropped a belt loop though. That´s cool that he saw Travis!

Make sure you lift hard Nay. I didn´t buy into lifting until my junior year in high school and it hurt my football a lot. Work really hard in practice and I promise, you will be a stellar football player. You have more skill at receiver than I did at your age by a lot.

What´s most important though is this. Read your scriptures every day, always strive to get along with Seth and Grant. And listen to mom and dad. They may seem like they are hard on you or don´t understand sometimes but they do. And they know what is best for you and they will never do anything that they don´t think will be for our benefit. Thank them every day for being your mom and dad. I am so proud of you for being ordained a teacher.

It feels like yesterday when I was doing that very thing. Your Patriarchal Blessing is coming up soon too. Read it often. It is the map to your life as long as you live in accordance with it. I love you buddy. Work hard in school and work hard in football. But above all else, work hard on living more like our Savior Jesus Christ. And continue to love your family =)

Letters to and from Elder Hackleman and little, big brother Seth

Elder Hackleman,
Boys state was awesome.  I was elected city sheriff and county sheriff.  Also I was elected cheer coordinator.  I received outstanding citizenship award at the end.  I was also nominated to go to boys nation.  5 people were nominated and only the top 2 go.  So I was at the top of the 450 boys from my peers and the leaders.  The councilors want me to be a jr councilor next year.  I had kids tell me I was more well known that the governor candidates.

This is a song I wrote for my town to sing to the girls staters.  It is to the tune "Hey there Delilah"

Hey there all you females whats it like up there at girls state
your a couple of blocks away but girls tonight you look so great
yes you do
boys state can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true.
and on and on ...

I met Taylor Martinez and the governor and you know all the big news dudes.

I love you.  Hope you are having a good time.

We went to the MC football camp and we beat Burke who is number 3 preseason.  So far in our scrimmages against other schools we are undefeated.  We are going to have a good team this year.

I love you.

Seth

That is so awesome bro! I am jealous. I was not nearly as outgoing at boys state and I regret it so I´m glad you got out there. How much bigger are you than Taylor Martinez? Probably tons haha. It was so long ago when I went to boys state. Nebraska had just announced its move to the Big 10 and Utah had just announced its move to the Pac 12. Crazy huh! haha

I hope you kill it this year in football. Keep an eye on Nathan. He could really be something in high school if you helped him out. My dream is for each of you to be better football players and stronger in the Gospel than I was at that age. You´re prepping for your senior year. That is so crazy.

Have fun but stay strong. It is such a great experience if you work hard in school and football than if you slack off. It may seem hard at the time but you will appreciate it so much more later on. And above all, ALWAYS exercise your testimony. Read the scriptures every day. Pray as often as you can. If you prepare for your mission as the first priority in your life, your football, school, and everything else good in your life will fall into place wherever the Lord wants it and you will be so happy.

I can´t wait to hear how your season goes and how school goes and just think, this time next year, you could already have your mission call! I love you man. Stay strong.

Su Hermano,
Elder Hackleman

P.S. COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME HOW MY HEAT AND MY BOY LEBRON IS DOING?!?!?!?!?! Haha

Elder Hackleman,
Poor Lebron tore his acl.  It is a huge bummer.

Seth
